The Office of General Counsel, Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (A,T&L) Division, provides practical, meaningful, future-oriented legal and business guidance to the Secretary of the Air Force and other senior Air Force officials on acquisition, intellectual property, program and budget matters that enable the Air Force to accomplish its mission. A career in the Acquisition Division provides a hands-on opportunity to work directly with Air Force senior leadership on a variety of complex legal matters pertaining to major weapon system source selection, intellectual property including trademarks, program management, oversight of contract litigation, mergers and acquisitions, and preparation of policy and guidance documents and regulations. The A,T&L Division promotes development and advancement by creating opportunities to participate in a full range of counseling experiences from policymaking to advising directly senior leadership on high-visibility intellectual property and acquisition-related matters.

Primary purpose of position is to provide legal advice/counsel, effective advocacy, and creative problem solving on intellectual property matters with specific focus on practice of trademark law. Responsibilities • Provide legal/business advice on intellectual property with specific focus on trademarks to the Air Force Public Air Force Public Affairs Agency (San Antonio, Texas) • Represent/provide legal support to the Department of the Air Force on matters before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. • Draft and negotiate trademark license agreements between the Air Force and commercial vendors. • Assess, investigate, and develop strategies for cease and desist letters, domain name proceedings, online marketplace takedowns, opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeals Board. • Accomplish special projects requiring an exceptionally high level of legal training and experience. • Represent the Office of the General Counsel and/or the Air Force in conferences with senior representatives of DoD and other agencies/entities
You MUST have successfully completed a full course of study in a school of law accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) and have the first professional law degree (LLB or JD). In addition, at the time of application, you must provide proof, dated within four months of application, of "active" status with a bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia. On-line information is allowed as long as it shows that you are in "active" status. AND In addition, the attorney shall have professional legal experience in excess of three years that is commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position.
