Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY/RESPONSIBILITIES • Report to Brand Manager, with dotted line to VP, Publisher • Work closely with Marketing department on brand updates • Coordinate information between Trade and school channels • Licensing o Attend potential brand meetings with outside agents, Licensors, networks o Coordinate internal meeting agendas o Weekly updates on what’s happening in the gaming, media (TV & Movies), Toy and Pop Culture worlds o Acquisitions process: P&Ls for new brands; writing acquisition memos + bringing new brands to Trade meetings; Create offer decks o Sales updates/reports upon partner request/contractual requirements o General Licensor requests o Licensing point of contact internally o Maintain library of Contracts and ISBN lists by property • Brand Marketing: work with Marketing to provide Sales with latest brand updates • VP/Publisher: work closely with Publisher to develop new ideas, research agents & companies as ideas arise WHO WE ARE Scholastic Corporation (NASDAQ: SCHL) is the world's largest publisher and distributor of children's books, a leading provider of core literacy curriculum and professional services, and a producer of educational and entertaining children's media. HOW YOU CAN FIT • 2 years’ experience in Licensing (and/or Publishing/Entertainment) • Knowledge and interest in pop-culture entertainment • Business acumen (understanding numbers/forecasts/P&Ls/etc) • Well spoken/written • Organized; ability to multi-task • Works well with others • Proficient in Office, Excel, PPT
