LICENSING & ACCESSORIES ASSOCIATE DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: Under Armour’s Accessories & Licensing department oversees a diverse set of products, agreements, and relationships for both in-line and outsourced manufacturing. The portfolio encompasses everything from hats, bags, socks, licensed apparel and other accessories, to brand collaborations and third party licensing. The team serves as the hub for product licensing strategies, collaborating with multiple cross-functional partners to ensure Brand right collections are brought to market. Licensed product categories have included youth apparel, fan gear, socks, eyewear, hydration products, athletic equipment and more. POSITION SUMMARY: The Under Armour Licensing Team is looking for aLicensing & Accessories Associateto support the Product Creation team and to manage the hydration and eyewear categories which service UA’s global business, distributed both via UA’s direct-to-consumer channels as well as via licensee sales teams. The Licensing & Accessories Associate will work cross-functionally with UA’s Global Marketing, Operations, Design, Development, Merchandising, Retail, Sales, Finance and Accounting teammates to ensure the business objectives are met. In addition, they will work with assigned license partners on strategizing, designing, creating and bringing to market innovative, differentiated, Brand-right product, while serving as an advocate and liaison between UA’s external partner and internal teammates across various departments. The best candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, as well as understand the value of nurtured business relationships. Initiatives will require internal consensus built with many teams in UA’s matrixed organization to drive key stories across the finish line. As the general manager of hydration and eyewear, this individual will need to work in a fast paced environment to authenticate Under Armour’s global product positioning and vision by being the voice of the consumer and understanding the performance needs of the athlete.  This individual is expected to operate a high level exhibiting growth and career potential.

Job Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES || Other duties may also be assigned PRODUCT OWNERSHIP: Manage UA’s hydration & eyewear categories, ensuring Brand-right product delivery and targeted financial returns for UA’s global licensing revenue. Create a global product line vision, line architecture plan and lifecycle plan to communicate strategy seasonally.  Accountable for aligning with any accessories, apparel or footwear items that will range with designated product line. Manage license categories and partners on a global scale, ensuring alignment between regions and licensees regarding product assortment, calendar milestones, region-specific product needs and on-time product delivery to regional distribution houses. Partner with Licensee and UA Design teams to create products that deliver newness, differentiation and innovation while growing market share and royalty income ensure products are beautiful, durable and intuitive. Present at seasonal Go-to-Market meetings with merchandising and marketing to align Tier 1 stories, advance decision making and share-out with UA’s Global Regions.  Must have strong presentation skills and be able to clearly articulate strategy to gain alignment throughout the organization. Conduct regular market trend research, consumer research, consumer insights testing, industry and competitive analysis. Know the core consumer and where the competition plays at every price point. Track online product reviews and defective customer returns to identify quality issues and opportunities to improve future iterations of products. Work with marketing partners, both internal and external, to ensure product differentiating features and Brand-right messaging is conveyed.  Consider all aspects of final execution including but not limited to packaging, marketing and presentation (both on ecommerce and at brick & mortar). Serve as Brand ambassador to Licensee by providing and educating with branding tools and design direction to ensure success, as well as socializing and coordinating approvals for design, product, and marketing. Have a working knowledge of Licensee’s contractual obligations and associated financial implications of decisions. Accountable for ensuring contract adherence of directly managed licensees. Partner with Licensees and UA Direct-to-Consumer Teams to drive “best in class” assortment and presentation. Own product line metrics such as sales history, market trends, product mix, and price points to drive decision making and assortment planning. Own seasonal style and color level data integrity/entry for UA’s PLM system, Trasix and all other systems to ensure data is accurate. PRODUCT CREATION TEAM SUPPORT Maintain a system of tracking and organization for in season prototype samples and SMS samples including ordering SMS/Preview samples Manage team calendar to ensure team is aware of major milestones/upcoming deliverables.  Support the product creation team during milestone meetings through organization and preparation (studio set up, action items, note taking)
