Licensing International is powered by an incredible group of licensing professionals hailing from around the globe who take time to serve the industry they love. Each week we’ll be profiling one of these professionals in this ongoing series.

How did you get into licensing (or how did licensing find YOU)?
I got a job as the executive assistant to the VP of the Warner Bros. catalog and within the first year went to work as the lead EA for the President, Dan Romanelli, who launched my career. I was promoted into a total of six positions at WBCP.

What’s your biggest personal and professional accomplishment?
My greatest personal accomplishment is my daughters, Sophi (19) and Erica (16). They truly are the greatest thing I’ve ever created in my life time!

My greatest professional accomplishment is launching the movie licensing program for Spider-Man and convincing Walmart to support the property (as it was not a recognized brand at the time). By Spider-Man 3, my team developed programs to support the theatrical release in over 170 countries. I have LOTS of great stories, some I can repeat, others I cannot!

What keeps you up at night? What’s your biggest challenge nowadays?
Initially launching programs always makes me a little restless, wondering if you’ve laid out the right strategy in this constantly changing world.

The greatest challenge is keeping up with the times and technology. The world is changing at a more rapid pace than ever before, so it’s very challenging to keep up with trends.

Overall, licensing’s greatest challenge will be the competitive landscape with the shrinking shelf space and decline of specialty and department stores resulting from COVID.

What truly excites you? 
Youth and new ideas! While I don’t fully understand the digital age, I recognize it is our now and it is our future. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that!?!
