Dependable Solutions

Dependable Solutions Inc’s (DSI) focus for 2023 was connections. DSI’s growing team of software developers worked to build and enhance application programming interfaces (APIs) to link together DSI’s licensing and royalty management system (DRM) and a range of mission critical software packages, including enterprise resource planning (ERP) and authentication label management platforms. DSI’s client services team conducted interviews with clients to better understand their future requirements, using the information gathered to frame the development roadmap for DRM, including this year’s expansion of sustainability tracking and mass upload features. DRM’s new approval workflow link sharing feature allows users to securely share submissions with other professionals, even if they are not registered to a DRM platform. And internally, the focus on connection continued, as DSI employees came together to reform DSI’s mission, vision, and principles.

Fabacus

This year, we showcased excellence through economic and societal impact for our licensor and licensee clients.
Through building digital product catalogues we generated and published the U.K.-first Digital Product Passport for the Happy Place by Fearne Cotton (a U.K. celebrity) x Nobody’s Child (a renowned U.K. ethical fashion brand) collaboration across 25,000 units. This came ahead of EU legislation coming into effect, enabling consumers to scan QR codes on products to access the product journey and carbon footprint data. Separately, using this technology, we enabled Activision Blizzard, FashionUK, and ASDA to engage with fans through products for the Call of Duty launch. This activation enabled licensor and licensee to offer ASDA a unique proposition, giving consumers an exclusive item to redeem in game (23% of all customers registered). Finally, we are onboarding licensees on behalf of industry licensor heavyweights, including NBCUniversal, Hasbro, Fanatics, and Stellantis, demonstrating recognition and impact of our service.

MyMediabox

MyMediabox celebrated 20 years of service to the licensing industry in 2023, expanding its leading role in developing intuitive and widely adopted software applications for the consumer products licensing industry. MyMediabox has long been known as the industry standard when it comes to asset delivery, approvals, workflows, and contract/royalty management. It continues to expand upon the market’s needs, driven by our partners and their customers, to introduce functionality for deeper analytics reporting, security tag management, and, most recently, sustainability. In 2023, over 50,000 users in more than 150 countries depended on MyMediabox applications to do their daily work, completing over 750,000 unique SKUs worldwide. We expanded our presence in Asia significantly to provide more real-time support to our growing international customer base. The acquisition of Brainbase and migration of their customers to the MyMediabox platform expanded MyMediabox’s market dominance in adoption with licensors, agents, and licensees globally.

Octane5

In 2023, Octane5 revolutionized graphic design for licensees with the launch of LEAP (Licensee Express Automation Platform). LEAP is a set of Adobe plug-ins that automates the design replication process. Designers create a design for a single team, and LEAP uses it to produce separate design files across all of the other teams in that league—instantly and accurately! LEAP takes a cumbersome process that used to take hours or days and shortens it to minutes while ensuring consistency and accuracy. LEAP does more than simply replicate designs. LEAP automatically produces production-ready art documents, generates 3D/photorealistic digital samples for catalogs and marketing, and populates multiple logos, graphic positions, and garment views for any product type. LEAP is currently in use with licensees of the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, MLS, and NCAA.
