4K Media Renamed Konami Cross Media NY

IL0402konamifroggerphoto4K Media Inc. is renamed Konami Cross Media NY Inc., capping a year in which it expanded to handle licensing for the Konami’s iconic Bomberman, Frogger and Contra videogames in addition to the Yu-Gi-Oh anime property.

Yuta Kose, formerly general manager of Konami’s Business Promotions Division’s Cross Media Department, was named President of Konami Cross Media. Jennifer Coleman will continue as Vice President for Licensing and Marketing.

4K assumed responsibility for licensing for the three videogames properties last year; they’d previously been handled by Konami’s Los Angeles office. Frogger, originally released as an arcade game in 1981 and on Atari 2600 console two years later, already has several licenses including Ripple Jucntion (apparel), Basic Fun (mini-arcade handheld games) and MSi Entertainment (plug-and Play TV games).

Konami launched 4K Media in 2012 after buying the production assets of 4Kids Entertainment. 4Kids had handled Enlgish dubbing of anime properties including Yu-Gi-Oh.
