The Bill Blass fashion brand is renewing its push in licensing, now represented by The Brand Liaison, which is seeking deals for men’s and women’s apparel and accessories and fragrances. At its licensing peak in the late 1990s, the brand had more than 40 licensees and $800 million in annual retail sales of licensed goods. Since then, it has had a few agreements, mostly recently with Peerless for tailored suits. The Bill Blass Group, which owns the brand, currently produces footwear currently sold through department stores and with plans for adding it in Costco… Surge Licensing is representing Thimblestump Hollow as the blind box vinyl toy line enters licensing for the first time. The characters, introduced in 2015 at Comic-Con in San Diego and sold as vinyl figures through Hot Topic and other retailers, are created by artists Chris Ryniak and Amanda Louise Spayd and produced by Cardboard Spaceship Toys… Animaccord’s “Masha and the Bear” has signed several agents across Europe. ELC will handle licensing in Eastern Europe (outside Poland), Nordic Licensing in the Nordics region and Lisle Licensing in the UK. Lisans continues as the agent in Turkey… Brandgenuity is handling licensing for India’s ChuChu TV as the YouTube channel enters North America for licensing for the first time. ChuChu TV, which launched on YouTube in 2013, has 36 million subscribers, including four million in North America, targeting 2-8-year-old children. Dream Theatre is ChuChu’s global licensing agency.
