NEW YORK, February 10, 2014 – Bud Light and the National Basketball Association (NBA) today announced plans for the first-ever Bud Light District at NBA All-Star 2014 in New Orleans.  Bud Light District, a custom 45,000 square foot pop-up event space adjacent to Smoothie King Center, will host the biggest NBA private, invitation-only parties and concerts throughout the weekend at NBA All-Star, featuring artists like Jason Derulo and Aloe Blacc.
Bud Light District will tip off the All-Star festivities with the New Orleans All-Star Host Committee Media Party for more than 2,000 invited guests on Friday, Feb. 14.  On Saturday, Turner Sports will take over the space for its annual NBA on TNT All-Star Party presented by Samsung Galaxy®.
Pop superstar Jason Derulo, singer-songwriter Aloe Blacc, and Grammy-nominated recording artist Mack Wilds will rock the Sprint NBA All-Star Pregame Concert on Sunday.  Wilds and Derulo will tip off the concert with live performances on NBA TV at 6 p.m. ET.  Derulo and Blacc will then perform during TNT’s pregame show for the 63rd NBA All-Star Game, beginning at 7 p.m. ET.
To close out the weekend, Bud Light District will host the Bud Light Postgame Party immediately following the conclusion of the 63rd NBA All-Star Game.  The Bud Light Postgame Party will feature a special performance from New Orleans native Trombone Shorty and his band Orleans Avenue.
“We’re excited to partner with the NBA to bring basketball fans the first-ever Bud Light District,” said Rob McCarthy, Vice President, Bud Light.  “We look forward to an epic celebration of the NBA All-Star Game 2014.  With the all-star lineup of parties and concerts on tap, Bud Light District is sure to be one of the entertainment highlights of the weekend.”
“New Orleans is world renowned for its celebrations and Bud Light is the perfect partner to co-host what will be the premier entertainment destination at All-Star,” said Emilio Collins, NBA Senior Vice President, Global Marketing Partnerships.  “Bud Light District will showcase an array of incredible events and performances all weekend long within a unique Bud Light environment.”
