Cleva International To Broaden Distribution of Kenmore Vacuums
Cleva International will broaden sales of Kenmore vacuums to retailers outside Sears Holdings for the first time, says Cleva’s Dale Belknap.
It will launch 11 vacuum models of stick, upright, canister and handheld vacuums in March priced $250-$400, adding new styles and colors to a line it previously produced for Sears under contract. It’s had the license since 2017.
With Sears Chairman Eddie Lampert’s ESL Investments having prevailed Wednesday in a bankruptcy auction with a $5.3 billion bid for Sears that includes the Kenmore and DieHard brands, Cleva has started pitching other retailers on the brand.
“There are concerns from retailers about the brand, but they recognize it and once you explain that you are the licensee and will be manufacturing the product, those concerns are eased,” says Belknap.
