Delivering Good Announces R&B Stars to Perform At Annual Fundraising Gala

New York, NY – October 30, 2020 – Delivering Good, the charity of choice for new product donations made by companies in the fashion, home and children’s industries, today announced that R&B stars Aloe Blacc and Allen Stone will perform at its annual gala event, to be held virtually on November 4 and streamed from the Empire State Building in New York.

Aloe Blacc, a Grammy-nominated singer and record producer, will be performing his inspiring hit single “Wake Me Up” to remind Gala attendees and viewers to look ahead to a brighter future during difficult times. Following the recent release of his new album, All Love Everything, Blacc will be performing from his favorite creative studio in Los Angeles as part of the Artists Den’s “Live From My Den” digital series. His full Artists Den episode can be viewed at Variety.com/ArtistsDen.

R&B and soul artist Allen Stone, whose most recent album, Building Balance, features the hit “Give You Blue,” will also be performing at the Delivering Good Gala via a prerecorded session from his home studio. The singer-songwriter has been praised for his timeless sound and poetic lyrics that touch upon social and political issues.

“In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and systemic issues related to inequality within our country, it’s inspiring to see such talented musical artists come together to drive change and help ensure Delivering Good can continue to successfully carry out its mission,” Andrea Weiss, Delivering Good’s Board Chair. “We are so excited to host Aloe Blacc and Allen Stone at our virtual event and to let their music help us share our message.”

Delivering Good recently announced that it has received more than $200 million in donations of new clothing and essentials since the beginning of 2020. The funds raised at the organization’s Annual Gala will be used to continue distributing these and other items to local agencies that support those affected by hurricanes, wildfires, COVID-19, poverty, homelessness and other challenges.

This year’s fundraising event celebrates Delivering Good’s 35th anniversary and is themed “Coming Together to Create a More Equitable World.” The Gala will take place Wednesday, November 4, from 7–8 pm, ET, and will be streamed from the Empire State Building. Ken Downing, Chief Creative Officer of Triple Five Group, will emcee the event along with special guest Whoopi Goldberg. The evening will feature industry awards and talks with leading philanthropists from the fashion world and entertainment.

Klarna, the leading global payments and shopping service, is among the platinum sponsors of this year’s Delivering Good Gala event.

About Delivering Good

Delivering Good provides companies with a simple and effective way to help millions of kids, adults and families in need through donations of new merchandise. The organization started as Kids In Distressed Situations (K.I.D.S.), providing disaster and poverty relief with new products and apparel for children. Separately, Fashion Delivers provided donations of adult apparel and home items for disaster and poverty relief, and in 2014 the two nonprofits merged; the name Delivering Good was adopted in 2017. Since the founding in 1985, over $2 billion of donated product has been distributed through a network of community partners across the country.
