Disney Readies Star Wars and Frozen 2 Promotional Push

IL0219starwarspicDisney has set Oct. 4 as the start date for a major product and promotional push behind Frozen 2 and a trio of Star Wars launches.

For Star Wars, the day is designated as “Triple Force Friday” – a nod to ”Force Friday” promotions that launched product for the two most recent Star Wars theatrical releases – to kick off merchandise pegged to Star Wars: Episode IX (which debuts Dec. 20); live action series “The Mandalorian”, which will be released on the upcoming Disney Plus streaming service,  and Electronic Arts’ “Star Wars: Fallen Order” videogame.

For Frozen 2, which premieres in the U.S. on Nov. 22, Disney and retailers will kick off Frozen Fan Fest on Oct. 4, featuring product introductions, music and in-store events.

Disney is promising an “unprecedented assortment” of Frozen 2-related products, a contrast to when Frozen was released in 2013, and became a surprise box office hit, with only a small amount of licensed product available.
