Hy-Pro International Appoints micommsPR

London, 15th May 2013: Hy-Pro International, the sporting goods business behind Zinc, the leading brand of scooters, bikes and skateboards, has appointed micommsPR to roll out a comprehensive trade and consumer PR programme – to support its aggressive growth strategy and raise awareness of its business and brands.
In addition to Zinc, which has grown rapidly to become one of the go-to brands in scooters, skateboards and bikes across the world, Hy-Pro International has also produced licenses for high profile football clubs and brands in Europe, including Manchester United, Chelsea and The Champions League.  The company recently brought high-profile investor Nigel Wray onto its Board in order to drive business expansion forward.
micommsPR is briefed to implement a trade and consumer PR programme, cementing Hy-Pro International’s position as a market leading business by increasing its industry profile, and raising awareness of its products and Zinc brand across all categories with its core target audiences of 2-5, 6-8 and 8+ year olds.  The programme will include securing celebrity endorsement and working alongside Hy-Pro International’s Pro-Team Rider, Jack Bryan to secure media opportunities.
In the coming months, media will be invited, together with their families, to an exclusive Zinc Team Extreme event where Hy-Pro International’s very own pro-stunt group will showcase stunt action on the Zinc Pro scooter range – giving journalists the opportunity to immerse themselves in the brand.
Hy-Pro International will also participate in the micommsPR Christmas product showcase – miChristmas Open House 2013 – where the hottest brands in children’s products come together to display their Christmas lines.  This year’s miChristmas Open House takes place on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th July, in central London.
“Hy-Pro International and its brands are well established and have a strong reputation in the industry and amongst those consumers who are familiar with the Zinc brand.  Bringing micommsPR on board to help us raise further awareness is the natural next step for us as a business, and we are delighted to welcome them on board,” comments Ying Pickavance, Senior Category and Brand Manager at Hy-Pro International.
Kirsty Barr, Managing Director at micommsPR, adds: “We’re thrilled to be appointed by Hy-Pro International to implement a comprehensive PR programme supporting the business and its product lines.  Hy-Pro International has exciting plans in this dynamic market, and we look forward to injecting that same excitement and passion in our delivery of PR.”
