Jewel Branding Expanding Plans for Rachel Hale Brand
Jewel Branding, having acquired the animal photographer Rachel Hale brand earlier this year, is rolling out its licensing program, including the signing of a master licensee for home textiles in the U.S. with the first products due next year, says Jewel’s Ilana Wilensky.
The licensee would be among the first signed since Jewel bought Hale’s brand from Dissero Brands in the spring, the first time the agency has owned a brand. Jewel had represented Hale in the U.S. for 10 years and now has an archive of more than 3,000 images. It took booth space for the brand at Brand Licensing Europe. Hale has about 70 licensees. Among the new licensees is Poland-based Paso (stationery, back-to-school).
At the same time, Jewel also is expanding the roster of agents representing Hale, adding Maurizio Distefano Licensing (Italy and 11 Eastern European countries), VIP (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden), and Exim Mexico (Mexico). Those agencies join a roster that includes Big Star Licensing (Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Caribbean Islands), Black Mint (Australia and New Zealand), Exim Argentina, License Connection (Benelux and France) and Start Licensing (UK).
