LABS Principals Driving Hollywood Deals

 In addition to its principal management, Los Angeles-Beijing Studios and its team have currently secured or are in talks with top Hollywood producers and directors to offer development deals and production financing to further enhance its synergy and slate. Current action includes the following individuals and production companies: A-List Producer Frank Marshall (Raiders of the Lost Ark, Back to the Future, The Sixth Sense, The Bourne Identity, The Lost World) is set to Executive Produce LABS/FUNTOONS’ first animated feature in 2015, Writer/Director David Twohy (The Fugitive, Riddick) is attached to direct LABS first sci fi project in 2016.

Al Ovadia, CEO: Over thirty years of senior-level global branding, marketing, licensing, internet, video game and promotion experience including Executive Vice President at Sony Pictures Consumer Products and President, Licensing & Merchandising for 20th Century Fox, where Mr. Ovadia launched Fox Interactive.
Steve Chicorel, Co-founder, COO: In search of building China US Copro intellectual properties to form LABS, Mr. Chicorel called on his relationships and content developed from his journey beginning with a UCLA Masters Degree in Screenwriting to producing and distributing movies for Greater China over the last eight years — which has formed the cornerstone slate and core team for LABS.
Greg Manwaring, Head of Funtoons Animation: Mr. Manwaring will be leading LABS’ animation arm, Funtoons. He is a thirty-year veteran in the animation industry and an honored member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Mr. Manwaring contributed to the wide critical acclaim of such films as: Disney Animation Studios’ “The Lion King” and “Pocahontas”, Touchstone Pictures’ “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” and Warner Bros.’ “The Iron Giant”.
 Steven J. Peña, General Counsel, Head of Business and Legal Affairs: LABS Partner & former Partner at Loeb & Loeb, General Counsel at Warner Bros Online, and Vice President of Legal Affairs at Twentieth Century Fox. Mr. Peña has broad experience with feature films, television, online and merchandising. Mr. Peña offers a diverse yet perfectly matched skill set to oversee transmedia business and legal affairs at LAB Studios.
 Sriram Das, Head of Development, Finance & Production: Mr. Das is one of the hottest rising star producers in Hollywood today, recently completing four feature films in 24 months, who, with his Harvard background, Yale MBA and investment banking experience for Meryl Lynch, offers LAB Studios his young, accomplished team at Das Films to expand LAB Studios’ China-US financial and co-production partnerships with Hollywood’s A-List movie talent and production crews.
