UBM Japan, the organizer of Licensing Expo Japan and special show partner, LIMA Japan, will deliver a seminar program on licensing basics and its potential to two specific industry audiences on Wednesday 15th February at Tokyo Big Sight’s Conference Tower.

The seminars – one for marketing professionals and one for the health and beauty industry – will introduce the benefits of using licensing characters and brands on products and for services and promotions. Licensing is generally seen as a rather difficult-to-enter industry that focuses on the business of trading intellectual property rights. However, with a knowledge and grasp of licensing fundamentals, it is an industry that – with great ideas – provides ample business opportunities.

Collaboration is now a key business development method for companies. The purpose of this seminar program is to explain about licensing as one type of collaboration and to demonstrate how it can be readily implemented to grow a business. The program will be of interest to companies thinking of starting collaboration projects, those who haven’t considered it yet and also for anyone simply looking for new ideas to drive business sales. Various case studies will be presented from both the perspective of the brand owner (licensor) and the brand user (licensee) to illustrate how licensing can maintain and enhance brand value, and how it can make products more appealing and increase market share.
