LIMA Japan’s 2nd Annual Global Licensing Forum & Networking Party
LIMA Japan’s Global Licensing Committee (GLC) held its 2nd annual Global Licensing Forum event on the 6th November at the Tokyo University Of Science’s Porta Kagurazaka Building. The remit of the GLC, which meets monthly, is to cover international licensing issues and the forum is its annual opportunity to report back to the LIMA Japan membership and the wider Japanese licensing community on major global licensing topics. This year the theme was key overseas licensing shows and related trade fairs. Attendance was strong with approximately 70 people filling the lecture hall. The forum kicked off with an introduction of LIMA’s annual North American Licensing Survey, followed by an overview of major licensing trade shows around the world. LIMA Japan were especially honored to introduce Jessica Blue, Vice President of Advanstar and Show Director for the world’s largest licensing trade show, the LIMA sponsored Licensing International Expo held annually in Las Vegas. Jessica travelled to Japan to attend the forum and make a presentation to the audience on the show as well as meet up with the licensing community. GLC members who regularly participate in many of the licensing shows around the world shared their observations and thoughts in a lively panel discussion. At the networking party following the forum, attendees had ample opportunity to interact with the GWC committee members to discuss global licensing issues in a casual and relaxing atmosphere. Additional photos from this exciting event are now available on LIMA’s Facebook page.
