How did you get into licensing (or how did licensing find YOU)?
Post college, I started my career at the corporate office of Steve & Barry’s University Sportswear. At the time, Steve & Barry’s was making a name for itself as an innovative new player in the retail landscape – and a retailer built on direct-to-retail (DTR) licensing relationships.
I was lucky enough to join an entrepreneurial licensing team working with hundreds of licensors spanning colleges/universities; corporate & entertainment brands; and celebrity & lifestyle partners. Steve & Barry’s paved the way for my future roles at Classic Media, DreamWorks Animation, and Retail Monster.

What’s your biggest personal and professional accomplishment?
Professionally, working with Michael Connolly and Kelli Corbett to open the doors to Retail Monster LLC, our brand licensing & extension company has been an incredible adventure and certainly what I’m most proud of!
Personal- is certainly my family. I’ve been blessed with an awesome wife (Kerri) and two happy & healthy fun-loving kids (Rowan and Merrick), which in years like this one, is everything.

What is the best piece of advice you ever received? OR What is your favorite quote?
Our friend Paddington Bear said “If we’re kind and polite the world will be right.” I love that.

What is your favorite licensing deal of all time? Working with Nicole Blake and the Classic Media team on the first Where’s Waldo? mobile app with Ludia is definitely a personal favorite. I had grown up with the Waldo books so it was fun to work with a best-in-class partner while my childhood and career collided. That the app met with such great commercial success in the early days of the App Store made it even more memorable.

The last licensed product I bought was…Technically, I didn’t buy it for myself, but Kelli (RM Partner and Chief Commercial Officer) gifted me pairs of Stance NY Yankees & Giants socks that have quickly become my go-to socks for the home office.
