RHS Announces Major Home Furnishing Collaboration with Esselle Retail
The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has announced the appointment of Esselle Retail, a designer and manufacturer of exceptional, well-crafted homeware, as its licensee for a beautiful and unique range of wallpaper, cushions and much more using designs inspired by RHS-supplied artwork.
The first products in this brand-new range will be 24 premium-quality digitally printed wallpapers with designs based on artwork from the RHS Lindley Collections, the world’s finest collection of botanical art, adapted for the new range by Esselle’s in-house design team.
This will be followed in February 2025 by the launch of a collection of digital fabrics, including made-to-measure curtains and blinds and made-to-order cushions, again using RHS Lindley Collections artwork.
The RHS-inspired wallpaper is now available at retail. Esselle has partnerships with many major retailers who are expected to stock the new range, including B&Q, Debenhams, House Beautiful, Freemans, John Lewis, Homebase and Brewers Decorator Centres to name only a few, along with a large number of independent outlets and garden centres. The range will also be available online.
This unique homeware initiative is designed to appeal to a broad range of customers, with a special focus on homeowners who love high-quality materials and creative and expressive designs.
With 25 years of experience in design and development – from concept to customer – Esselle prides itself on combining modern printing standards with beautifully designed and crafted products delivered by artisan producers from across the globe. A cornerstone of UK homes for decades, partnering with renowned retailers to bring its customers exceptional, well-crafted products, Esselle Retail offers a comprehensive range of homeware that includes, rugs, tableware, doormats and runners, wall art, storage and, of course, curtains, blinds, cushions and wallpaper.
Designed and manufactured in the UK, Esselle’s digitally printed wallpaper is highly curated and seamlessly blends both bold and classic understated elegance, enhancing any room. In addition, as a major UK supplier of wallpaper, Esselle is proud to be FSC certified and to be sourcing from FSC-certified factories. All its raw materials are sustainably sourced and ecofriendly inks are used on all of its wallpaper products.
Olympia Giakou, Senior Marketing Executive, Esselle Retail, says: “This collaboration is about bringing something new and different to homeware – combining our design skill and advanced printing techniques with the unmatched assets of the UK’s favourite gardening charity. The result is quite amazing. We look forward to bringing this new range to our retail partners, trade shows and, of course, consumers, who we are sure will adore it.”
Cathy Snow, RHS Licensing Manager, adds: “The appeal to the RHS of the Esselle offering was a strong one from the start: an in-house design team that creates unique homeware, sustainably sourced and expertly crafted with premium materials. And of course it has now made excellent use of our design assets to produce something truly wonderful. We are thrilled to be announcing this collaboration.”
About the RHS
Since our formation in 1804, the RHS has grown into the UK’s leading gardening charity, touching the lives of millions of people. Perhaps the secret to our longevity is that we’ve never stood still. In the last decade alone we’ve taken on the largest hands-on project the RHS has ever tackled by opening the new RHS Garden Bridgewater in Salford, Greater Manchester, and invested in the science that underpins all our work by building RHS Hilltop – The Home of Gardening Science.
We have committed to being net positive for nature and people by 2030. We are also committed to being truly inclusive and to reflect all the communities of the UK.
Across our five RHS gardens we welcome more than three million visitors each year to enjoy over 34,000 different cultivated plants. Events such as the world famous RHS Chelsea Flower Show, other national shows, our schools and community work, and partnerships such as Britain in Bloom, all spread the shared joy of gardening to wide-reaching audiences.
Throughout it all we’ve held true to our charitable core – to encourage and improve the science, art and practice of horticulture – to share the love of gardening and the positive benefits it brings.
