Sunny Side Up Partners with peermusic

London, 3rd November 2014:  Sunny Side Up the lyric licensing agency is delighted to announce that it has forged a global deal with peermusic, the leading global independent music publisher.
Peermusic boasts an extensive catalogue with songs ranging from ‘You Are My Sunshine’ through ‘You Raise Me Up’ to more recent hits such as Katy Perry’s ‘Firework’ and ‘Umbrella’, made famous by Rihanna.  The company also holds the rights to the catalogues of iconic artists such as Buddy Holly, Donovan and Hoagy Carmichael.  In fact it was Buddy Holly’s band the Crickets that inspired John Lennon to name his band The Beatles!
The inspiration behind the partnership was driven by the recognition of the unparalleled power of music and uplifting nature of lyrics.
Michael Gottlieb, Managing Partner Sunny Side Up Licensing said:  “We are very pleased to add the peermusic catalogue to the roster of rights that Sunny Side Up represents.  The peermusic catalogue contains some timeless lyrics that will translate beautifully onto a wide range of products.”
Nigel Elderton, European President of peermusic added: “This is a very exciting development for all parties and we look forward to seeing our songwriters’ lyrics on a wide variety of consumer products.”
