New York City (January 2019) – The Wildflower Group, (TWG), a multi-award-winning licensing and branding agency, has been appointed by THE NATIONAL GALLERY COMPANY (NGC) as its North American Licensing representative. TWG has created a multi-tiered strategy that includes both a proprietary e-commerce destination and a comprehensive brick and mortar program to launch in 2019. TWG will seek licensee partners across categories including home décor, stationery, gift, publishing, apparel and accessories.
The National Gallery, London, houses one of the greatest collections of paintings in the world including works by Van Gogh, Monet, Velázquez, Raphael, Turner and Cézanne. The National Gallery is in the top 10 most visited museums in the world with over 5 million annual visitors and approximately 1 million followers on its social media platforms. Their archives contain over 2300 works and are available in super high-resolution form for use on licensed products.
“We’re thrilled to be working with the National Gallery on licensing their extensive collection of proprietary masterpieces,” said Michael Carlisle, Founder and Principal of TWG. “The National Gallery offers a unique heritage brand with deep assets and priceless authenticity.”
“I am delighted to be working with The Wildflower Group as our licensing agency in the United States. NGC are excited by the online and bricks and mortar opportunities in this region. This is part of our strategic ambition to grow the National Gallery brand internationally,” said Judith Mather, Buying and Brand Licensing Director of the National Gallery Company.
TWG will be working with NGC and NGC’s appointed UK licensing agent, JELC, to develop the National Gallery Company licensing program in the US.
