UK Start-Up Attachment Announces the Launch of New Arm: Attachment Licensing
OFFICIAL RELEASE Attachment, part of Start-up 100’s top UK start-ups most exciting fast growth companies in both 2018 & 2019, is a global entertainment agency that works with entertainment talent through brand collaborations and endorsements – have announced the launch of their new venture: Attachment Licensing.
Having already established themselves within the world of entertainment, working with clients that include Google, Airbnb, Westfield, Unilever, LaDbible and Primark on their brand collaborations, endorsements & live events – Attachment have been analysing the relationship between the world of licensing and talent through the world of entertainment.
Officially launched in July, the licensing arm of the company is headed by Charlotte Clisby, who brings her strong background in licensing to this venture, following her role of Chief Commercial Officer at Evode.
This vast experience in licensing, coupled with a strong understanding of the world of entertainment, puts Attachment Licensing in a unique position to communicate with both industries. A position from which they can work directly for the licensee and retailer – finding the talent that is best suited to them.
Attachment centres on forming deeper connections within the entertainment industry, through the agency they have worked with talent such as Lady Gaga, Ellie Goulding, Mark Ronson, James Corden, Liam Payne, Rudimental, Rita Ora & Gwen Stefani.
On the launch of Attachment Licensing, Charlotte Clisby commented, “There’s been fantastic growth in talent licensing but it’s still a slightly unknown and confusing area with lots of perceived boundaries. Our fresh new approach and experience working with talent is already making talent licensing faster and easier for all involved.”
Attachment Licensing now want to redefine the relationship between talent and licensees. Working at speed, they want to change the way that talent view and engage with the licensing model – helping them to better understand the wide scope for multiple opportunities – transforming what can often feel like a long-term ambition into scalable results within months. Equally they take the most effective route to talent in order to ensure the opportunities that licensee’s are offering are clearly visible to them.
Recent successes for Attachment Licensing include a soon-to-be-announced partnership with international textiles leader Ashley Wilde. This partnership will see Ashley Wilde launch a brand new bedding collection across the UK high street before rolling out Internationally.
On their partnership, Ashley Wilde stated: “The Ashley Wilde Group is very pleased to be launching a new partnership with, Attachment Licensing. We look forward to working with the company to help maximise and streamline our licensing opportunities, and overall strengthen our position in the industry.”
Attachment are also announcing their new brand client, Skinnydip; one of the fastest growing lifestyle and fashion brands. Skinnydip have officially engaged Attachment to identify and execute international licensing opportunities, which will expand their brand across a number of different categories. Having already secured two global licensing partners for Skinnydip, which will shortly be made public, Attachment will be announcing many more over the coming months.”
Skinny Dip commented on the fruitful potential of this new relationship, stating: “We are thrilled to announce that we are now working with Attachment to help secure licence opportunities for the brand.”
“We believe that licensing is the best way for us to expand into multiple product categories whilst ensuring that we are working alongside the most credible companies in each new category we enter. We have really big plans for new products and can’t wait to expand the business over the coming years together.”
