This is a diverse group whose members might be found in just about any room in the house – or outside it.  The list of products nominated as Best PRODUCT: Appliances – Electronics – Housewares within the 2020 Licensing International Excellence Awards could be in the kitchen, den, bathroom, playroom, a car, or even a pocket.

Overall, more than 600 entries were received this year from companies in 22 countries and were judged by a panel of 152 executives from 20 nations. The licensing industry will make its selections from a ballot that includes 175 nominees in 23 categories of brands, properties and companies.

ezpz – Sesame Street All-in-One Placemat

Sesame Workshop collaborated with ezpz, the makers of an original, all-in-one placemat to make mealtime fun for kids and mess-free for parents. The all-in-one design allows parents to serve kids their favorite foods in the shape of Elmo and Cookie Monster faces—or even keep picky eaters happy with separate compartments for different flavors. With this collaboration, both Sesame Street and ezpz helped kids of all abilities meet key developmental milestones and grow smarter, stronger and kinder! The Sesame Street x ezpz collaboration was a hit with parents and press, the latter garnering over 46 million impressions at launch.

Personalised Plates Queensland – emoji License Plates

Personalised Plates Queensland (PPQ) unveiled the world’s first emoji® number plate range in March 2019.  Queensland drivers can now choose customised plates using five of the most popular emojis to express themselves.

The Australian innovation made headlines worldwide from BBC News to U.S. talk shows, reaching audiences in the millions. Even Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison was asked on radio which emoji® he would choose!  Priced at $475 each, over 1,000 plates have sold to date, generating over $0.5M in sales and new emojis plates will be added to the range this year.

Stern Pinball – The Beatles Pinball

Stern Pinball, in collaboration with Ka-Pow Pinball, released the first and only Beatles pinball machine ever made!  Only 1964 units were produced in recognition of the year in which the world forever changed when Ed Sullivan introduced America to four young mop-topped musicians from Liverpool, England. The game is available in three models named for the recording industry’s sales award levels. The Diamond Edition, the highest level and most difficult to attain, is limited to only 100 units.  The Platinum Edition is limited to only 250 units. The Gold Edition is limited to 1614 units.
