Pokémon Creates Sparkling New Pop-Up in Harrods Knightsbridge Store

London, UK — The Pokémon Company International has taken over Harrods’ toy floor for six weeks of dynamic fun. Spanning the half-term holidays and celebrating Pokémon Day on 27 Feb., the pop-up offers a host of exciting activities for visitors to the world-famous department store in Knightsbridge, London.

The prominent, branded space in the store’s fourth-floor toy department celebrates a vibrant selection of lovable, all-time favourite Pokémon who can be found on land and in the sea and sky across different regions of the Pokémon world. Colourful and vibrant graphics, displays and digital screens feature dynamic content from key components of the Pokémon brand, including video games, the Pokémon Trading Card Game and Pokémon animation, as well as the latest toy releases. Alongside a fabulous selection of Pokémon products is a rich assortment of themed activities, including cute giveaways, photo opportunities and costume character visits in mid-February, creating an exciting and immersive destination pop-up for Harrods customers.

With a wide range of Pokémon products — toys, the Pokémon TCG, stationery and accessories — there really is something for everyone. Visitors can browse a selection of Jazwares’ hugely popular toy line, including Battle Figures, a variety of plush in different sizes — including 8-inch and 18-inch Sleeping Plush — and the Clip ’N’ Go Poké Ball Belt Set. Other highlights include Mattel’s MEGA construction sets, covetable collectibles from The Wand Company, bespoke prints from GB eye and Teknofun’s lamps and wireless speakers.

“We are delighted to get back together with Harrods to create this exciting new pop-up where fans old and new can celebrate Pokémon,” said Mathieu Galante, licensing director (EMEA) for The Pokémon Company International. “With a host of the most-loved Pokémon filling the space along with fun activities, we hope to offer an inspiring and engaging experience that will enjoy the huge success of our previous collaborations with this iconic store.”

This latest Pokémon space in Harrods follows a hugely successful pop-up in August 2022 that accompanied the Pokémon World Championships held at ExCeL London — the first time the tournament had been held outside North America. The pop-up continues the fruitful collaboration between TPCi and Harrods that began in May 2019 with a monthlong takeover to promote the launch of the hit live-action movie POKÉMON Detective Pikachu. Additional pop-ups followed in February 2020 to celebrate the launch of the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield video games and in 2021 as part of the phenomenally successful Pokémon 25th anniversary celebrations.
