The Licensing International Foundation’s mission focuses on the next generation of licensing leaders, awarding students from around the world who are interested in a career in brand licensing at all stages of their educational journey.

What was your reaction when you first found out you had received a Licensing International Foundation Scholarship?
I was truly shocked and incredibly grateful. As an international student, I knew that scholarship opportunities were limited. Receiving the scholarship was a huge relief and support for my educational journey.

What did receiving this scholarship mean to you?
It meant more than just financial assistance—it allowed me to continue pursuing my passion for learning and growing as an individual without the added stress of financial burdens.

How has the Scholarship Program helped jumpstart or further your career?
The scholarship helped me expand my network within the licensing industry, which was crucial for my professional growth. I also had the opportunity to work on a licensing deal between Bacardi and a local ice cream manufacturer, which was a significant career milestone.

Did this scholarship make you rethink your career goals?
Not necessarily rethink, but it broadened my perspective on the various opportunities outside the traditional corporate world, showing me different avenues within the industry.

How have you grown professionally and personally from this experience?
Professionally, I have expanded my network and gained valuable experience in the licensing field. Personally, it has reinforced my commitment to my career goals and given me confidence in pursuing further opportunities.

What advice would you give to current college students who are thinking of applying to the 2024 Scholarship Program?
Don’t be afraid to apply. Even if you have low expectations, approach the application process with a mindset of success. The worst thing that can happen is a “no,” but you might be pleasantly surprised by the opportunities that arise.

Looking ahead, what are your next steps or aspirations?
I am eager to gain further experience in the United States. With my recent pre-completion OPT, I am looking to join a firm in the New York metro area to gain additional valuable experience.
