The Licensing International Foundation’s mission focuses on the next generation of licensing leaders, awarding students from around the world who are interested in a career in brand licensing at all stages of their educational journey.

What was your reaction when you first found out you had received a Licensing International Foundation Scholarship?
When I found out I had received a Licensing International Foundation Scholarship, the first thing I did was double check that the email I was reading was real and was not a product of my imagination. Being awarded with this scholarship had always been a dream for me, and it turns out the dream came true!

What did receiving this scholarship mean to you?
Receiving this scholarship gave me confidence! This scholarship has meant a lot, not only to me but also to my family and friends. Since I had the honor of winning one of the Licensing International Foundation Scholarships, I cannot stop thinking about the importance of writing with passion about the things we care about. We can contribute with our own voice to a larger conversation that can potentially incentivize further projects!

How has the Scholarship Program helped jumpstart or further your career?
The scholarship program has opened my eyes to an extensive spectrum of the creative industries where I have been able to realize that there are different possibilities and paths for the fashion industry.

Did this scholarship make you rethink your career goals?
This scholarship has made me rethink my career goals—now, I think I would really love to learn more about the licensing industry to discover how it can help me create my future. The licensing industry has so much in common with trend forecasting and I think my career has turned in that direction. Currently, part of my career goals are focused on how the licensing industry can give me so many insights into the fashion industry.

How have you grown professionally and personally from this experience?
Professionally, I would say I’m more confident—without forgetting to stay humble with every step I take forward. Personally, now I’m more conscious about the content I receive every day and trying to look for new insights that can contribute to the person I want to be.

What advice would you give to current college students who are thinking of applying to the 2025 Scholarship Program?
Be curious all the time!

Looking ahead, what are your next steps or aspirations?
Looking ahead, my next aspirations are learning as much as I can from my next co-op internship and to apply all of those gained skills into my next professional position. Additionally, I would like to learn more about the licensing industry for the arts.
