The Licensing International Foundation’s mission focuses on the next generation of licensing leaders, awarding students from around the world who are interested in a career in brand licensing at all stages of their educational journey.

What was your reaction when you first found out you had received a Licensing International Foundation Scholarship?
When I first received the scholarship, I was super excited. I had just learnt about Licensing as a career option, and I was really excited to get a deeper view and get more involved in the licensing world.

What did receiving this scholarship mean to you?
The scholarship helped me finish my college and graduate with a double major and Summa Cum Laude honors. I am honored to be part of a group of students who have the same career interests and who think seriously about their future.

How has the Scholarship Program helped jumpstart or further your career?
The Scholarship Program helped me finish my undergraduate degree and gain experience and knowledge of the industry and possible career choices. The program also helped me further understand licensing—with its help, I was able to explain to others what licensing is and make them consider it as a career choice.

Did this scholarship make you rethink your career goals?
Yes, it definitely made me rethink my career choices. My eyes opened to a brand-new career opportunity and industry that I did not know about before.

How have you grown professionally and personally from this experience?
I have grown professionally—I applied for an internship too and it helped me get hands-on experience on the day-to-day workings of the industry.

What advice would you give to current college students who are thinking of applying to the 2024 Scholarship Program?
I think it is important for everyone to explore career options as college students and to get out of their comfort zone by looking for alternatives. I definitely recommend to everyone interested in business to try to get a deeper knowledge of licensing, and just by applying for the scholarship and providing the deliverables, they would gain a basic knowledge of the industry (which they might end up working in).

Looking ahead, what are your next steps or aspirations?
Looking ahead, I want to complete my MBA degree and then hopefully return to New York and find a job that is the closest to my dream role.
