Octopean Media And Gameloft Partner To Opportunities for March of of Empires and Dragon Mania Properties

Plans Include U.S and Global Television Programming, Licensing, Live Events and More

New York, NY — Octopean Media signed a licensing agreement with game developer Gameloft across mobile, PC and console platforms.

Through the agreement, Octopean will develop content and brand extensions for March of Empires and Dragon Mania Legends, two of Gameloft’s most popular and successful game titles, across programming, licensing and merchandising, live events, and other brand extensions.

“We saw an untapped opportunity to leverage two of the world’s most popular and established gaming franchises into new areas for growth,” said Jeff Goldman, President of Octopean Media. “These two titles have global recognition and millions of fans and players and offer us basically a blank slate to develop a range of brand extensions that will help grow these franchises even further.”

Hervé Delabrousse, Gameloft’s Senior Director of Global Business Development, added, “Octopean Media is the perfect partner to develop opportunities to expand our IP. These are two crown jewels in our portfolio, and we look forward to providing new ways for our fans to engage with these globally beloved brands.”

Octopean will focus its efforts in a few key areas: television programming, live events, and licensing and merchandising, which will be spearheaded by Brand Equity Solutions, a New York-based licensing consultancy, with which Octopean has a strategic alliance. The two entities have previously partnered on several of Octopean’s other brands, including Sock Puppet Master, and are working on potential opportunities with the new upcoming Hulu series, “Overboard for Love” from Jeff Jenkins Productions (Secret Lives of Mormon Wives) and Alex Cooper’s Unwell Network.

Richard Oren, President of Brand Equity Solutions, commented, “It’s a thrill to be able to translate these well-known gaming brands into physical and digital products and brand extensions. Gaming titles are wildly popular in the licensing space, and these two have traditionally been underleveraged. We’re confident that many manufacturers and retailers will be excited to offer a range of new opportunities under these brand names.”
