2024 Hall of Fame Presenter
EUGENE JARVIS, President, Raw Thrills
A pioneer in arcade video games, Jarvis got his start working for Nolan Bushnell at Atari in 1977. Jarvis is best known for the hardcore classic arcade action games: Defender (1980), Robotron: 2084 (1982), NARC (1988), and Smash TV (1990). These classic vids pioneered scrolling, computer synthesized sound tracks, particle effects, photo-realistic human and background digitization, and unprecedented levels of action and body count. In the 1990’s Jarvis created the arcade driving trilogy Cruis’n USA, Cruis’n World, and Cruis’n Exotica. Cruis’n combined hyper realistic digitized 3-D art with the emerging 3-D texture mapping and rendering tech to create the most successful arcade driving sim ever. In 2001, Jarvis founded the Raw Thrills studio to continue his passion of arcade video game creation. Raw Thrills today is one of the world’s leading developers of video arcade games. Current titles include Jurassic Park Arcade, Batman, MotoGP, SuperBikes 2, The Walking Dead, and Big Buck Hunter HD Live.
