In 2020, Animal Planet’s toy program at Target continued to grow, with sales increasing 31% year over year. The Animal Planet toy line was named to Bullseye’s Top Toy list for two years in a row and the brand continued to see success throughout the year by winning a 2020 Parent’s Choice Award in the “Fun Stuff” category. In 2020, Target also expanded the Animal Planet brand into eco-friendly plush toys, which have fillings made from recycled bottle fibers.
Harry Potter – Warner Bros
French’s favourite franchise. Harry Potter: #1 License on the French Toys & Games market in 2020, above Frozen and Star Wars, with 5 Harry Potter toys sold every minute in France. With a 44% increase in sales in 2020, the Harry Potter franchise is now the leading French Toys & Games franchise with over 60 million euros in revenues and 2.5 million toys sold during the year. During the Christmas season, from October to December, Harry Potter has been the most requested license with 10 toys in the top 30 (source: NPD).
Love, Diana – pocket.watch
The Kids Diana Show channel has had massive growth over the past year, culminating in becoming the #3 most viewed channel in the world according to Tubefilter, and creating the #1 new doll license line within 3 months of launch. It is easy for young kids to relate to Diana’s fun-tastic episodes, and by sprinkling in plenty of big expressions and animated effects, the channel has grown an international audience that has made Diana the world’s top creator.
Peaky Blinders – Caryn Mandabach
Building on the huge success of the official Peaky Blinders licensing program, 2020 has been an incredible year for the brand, with a vast array of new products and ranges from wines to apparel, gifting, stationary, men’s grooming, games and puzzles, video games and experiential. Peaky Blinders’ officially licensed product is proving a hit with consumers and retailers, as the successful licensing program now spans over 40 licensees across multiple territories. The brand continues to appeal to the TV series’ dedicated fan base in a growing number of international markets.
Ryan’s World – Sunlight Entertainment
Our licensees are bold and creative, key to making Ryan’s World #1 in several categories at Target and Walmart especially in Preschool Toys. Groundbreaking partnerships with Kellogg’s, Colgate, and Amazon have generated big dividends for all parties, and helped pocket.watch jump to #106 in License Global’s “Top 150 Global Licensors”.
Street Dance of China – Alifish
The summer of 2020 witnesses a huge success of Street Dance of China – Season 3, both commercially and innovatively. 40+ sponsors and licensees including Burberry, Alipay, Nestle, Friso, M.A.C, Philips, Razer and many other well-known brands developed 240+ SKUs of merchandise covering 60+ catalogs. And 15 mall events and pop-up stores located in 10+ different cities, while a licensed street dance course covered about 100 cities and areas in mainland China. What’s more, it also innovatively ran the crossover with Japanese well-known anime series GUNDAM and Chinese museum, DUNHUANG for the first time in the Chinese original reality shows.
