Blackmilk – Harry Potter Collection
Founded in Brisbane Australia, Black Milk is a specialty fashion online retailer who supported two complimentary Harry Potter collections which included sleepwear for the first time in 2020. This 2020 collection was an extension of the House Pride collection from the previous season using the constellations theme to highlight and refresh the range. This constellations creative followed through into the sleepwear to create a cohesive Harry Potter story for the second half of 2020. The collections were incredibly successful with unprecedented sales within 24 hours of the collection launching.
Dr. Martens – Jean-Michel Basquiat Boots
Dr. Martens collaborated with the Jean-Michel Basquiat Estate to make an edition of their iconic 1460 and 1461 shoes. The 1460 are etched with Basquiat’s artworks along the upper body of the boots, accented by thick yellow stitching along the seams, while the forefoot is kept clean and black. The intermixing of fashion and art in this licensing collaboration between an iconic street-artist and an iconic streetwear brand is the apex of contemporaneity and a creative, innovative, and original entry.
Lee Jeans – The Coca-Cola Company Collection
Celebrating over 80 years of authentic connection, Coca-Cola and Lee Jeans launched a series of fashion collections for S/S and F/W 2020. Inspired by the official Coca-Cola Bottler uniforms Lee created in the 1930’s, the 1st collection was launched as a salute to the long and lasting friendship between the two brands as a “Real Buddy” theme. The second collection was built on celebrating sports and passion moments as a team, Coca-Cola and Lee Jeans together, as their core FW2020 fashion collection. Together the programs generated over 11 million media impressions across 6 countries, and $9+ million in sales.
Modern Works – Kodak Collection
With a fabulous on-line presence, and social following, Modern Works had success even in tough 2020, delivering sales of approximately $3m with plans for triple digit growth in 2021. Their widespread KODAK branded presence has given a great platform for the Brand and supported other licensees within South Korea. Recent promotion of the range by popular South Korea actor Jung Hae-In (@junghaein_official 120k followers) has given the brand further exposure and credibility.
Morgan Lane – Monopoly Sleep & Loungewear
Memories, family and fun! – Reunited with family during the pandemic, Morgan Curtis, founder of Morgan Lane and daughter of designer Jill Stuart, recalled the hours she spent playing Monopoly with her family. Such memories inspired her to partner with Hasbro on their first collaboration. Together they celebrate Monopoly’s 85th Anniversary. The pastel colors of the Monopoly bills and glamorous tokens were Morgan’s inspiration for a luxurious sleepwear collection. The Where Dreaming and Gaming Collide collection can be considered multi-functional in this pandemic time – perfect for lounging around the house, playing games or attending a Zoom.
Primitive Skate – Sailor Moon Skateboard Collection
First ever official Sailor Moon Skateboard collection in the IPs nearly 30 year history. First ever male-centric brand to have the IP. Skate items in addition to the boards, skate banners, and skate board stickers. The collection is particularly important to me as a gay black man that always wished Sailor Moon had items that male fans could enjoy too. Now, regardless of gender identity, all can enjoy a collection from the groundbreaking show Sailor Moon.
