ASPCA® Licensing Program Showcases Expanding Line of Licensed Products to Support Animals in Need at Licensing Expo 2014

NEW YORK—The ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) today announced that its licensing program will showcase new products for pets and their people at the Licensing Expo 2014 in Las Vegas, Nev. from June 17-19.
“Our expanding licensing program aims to not only raise funds to support the ASPCA’s work for animals in crisis across the country, but also to build awareness for the ASPCA’s mission and programs,” said Helene Gordon, senior director of licensing & retail development for the ASPCA. “Our new licensed products, which we will unveil at Licensing Expo 2014, integrate messaging about pet adoption and pet care, to help further engage consumers in our efforts to protect animals.”
The already robust licensing program has expanded to include licensees in the kids, publishing, collectibles and accessories categories. New projects include:

  • Commonwealth Toy & Novelty Co., Inc.: Stemming from their agreement last year, Commonwealth Toy & Novelty will place their line of plush toys and accessories at Kmart and other retailers in late 2014. The line will aim to replicate the experience of adopting a shelter pet, bringing the ASPCA’s mission to a new generation of animal advocates.
  •  Studio Fun International: A newly signed deal will see the ASPCA work with Studio Fun International, formerly Reader’s Digest Publishing, to develop a collection of children’s books, set for release in spring 2015.
  • Bradford Exchange: As part of their Precious Moments collection, Bradford Exchange will launch a line of handcrafted figurines that pay tribute to the love between a little girl and her kittens.
  • Enertec Enterprises: In collaboration with the ASPCA, Enertec Enterprises will introduce a line of nine collectible miniature dogs complete with their own dog houses. Tips for how to care for your dog will be included on the packaging.
  • Alex & Ani: The jewelry company will release a symbolic charm bracelet to support the ASPCA as part of their Charity By Design program.
  • Graphique de France: In 2016, Graphique de France will create a calendar to celebrate the ASPCA’s 150th anniversary.

These companies join a roster of existing licensees that offer products for both pets and people. This includes Pet King, EHD, and, Evenflo who will place ASPCA pet products such as toys, beds, dog sweaters and leashes at mass retailers including Target, Kmart and Ross Stores.  Paws N Claws eyewear and accessories will soon be available in J. C.
