With its book-to-screen activities, Frankfurter Buchmesse (15-19 October 2025) connects players from the publishing industry with production companies. Film and series adaptations have long played a special role at Frankfurter Buchmesse which is the largest international trading place for rights and licenses.

Every year in October, the international publishing world comes together in Frankfurt to celebrate great stories. For international filmmakers, this is an opportunity to discover new stories, characters and ideas from all over the world in one place. Frankfurter Buchmesse connects the creative industries and facilitates exchange between publishing and the film and streaming industries so that these stories can be told in new ways.

At the Book-to-Screen Day on Friday of the fair, 17 October, there will be a series of events where publishers and agents can meet with film producers to discover and discuss the books with the best potential for film, series or screen adaptation.

International production companies and scouts can now apply until 10 July to participate in an exclusive matchmaking event. This event will take place on Friday, 17 October from 11 am to 1.00 pm as part of the Book-to-Screen Day at Frankfurter Buchmesse and will be organised in cooperation with Berlinale Co-Production Market.
