Esquire Launches First Men’s Fragrance Line with Michael Malul
Esquire’s first-ever fragrances are inspired by the media brand’s rich heritage and inspiring future
New York, NY – Men’s magazine Esquire has announced the launch of four new fragrances with licensee Michael Malul. The collaboration was facilitated by licensing agency IMG.
The new fragrances – available in 100ml bottles – were developed around Esquire‘s rich literary history and notable contributors, from F. Scott Fitzgerald and e. e. cummings to new journalism legends like Tom Wolfe and, of course, its many editors-in-chief. From this inspiration, the names of the four initial new scents were born: American Novelist, Modern Poet, New Journalist and Editor in Chief.
American Novelist is an ambery, warm, intriguing fragrance with notes including bergamot, leather, and cedar. Modern Poet is an herbal, dreamy, green fragrance with notes including matcha, gin, and patchouli. New Journalist is a blue, aquatic, approachable fragrance with notes including apple leaf, blue lavender, and sandalwood. Covering the darker side of the fragrance wheel, Editor-in-Chief is bold, spicy, and elusive with notes including clove, labdanum and tonka bean. Even more fragrances will be added to the collection throughout the next few years.
“Our readers have an insatiable appetite for stories about men’s fragrance and grooming. And we’ve been talking about developing men’s fragrances for years. After the successful launch of our jewelry line, this felt like the right time to do it,” said Michael Sebastian, editor-in-chief of Esquire. “It’s the natural next step in creating products that will resonate with our readers.”
“Collaborating with Esquire on this line of fragrances has been rewarding from start to finish,” said Hanan Malul, chief executive officer at Michael Malul. “We had the pleasure of diving into Esquire‘s incredible history, and its inspiring trajectory, to bring it to life through fragrances. The result is something very special that we’re excited for people to experience.”
Currently, the fragrances can be purchased on the Michael Malul website. Soon, they will be available on Amazon and in major retailers across the United States.
