Grateful Dead Announces Partnership with Burton Snowboards for Winter 2013
LOS ANGELES – Grateful Dead Productions and Rhino Entertainment today announced that they have partnered with Burton, the world’s leading snowboard manufacturer, on an exclusive line of snowboards.
The newly designed Burton Grateful Dead snowboards made their trade debut today at the annual SIA Snow Show in Denver, Colorado
“Burton is arguably the best in the snowboard business and we are thrilled to partner with them on the Grateful Dead brand,” said Sara Nemerov, Senior Vice President of Consumer Products and Brand Licensing at Rhino Entertainment. “It’s amazing to see two creative brand visions come together to create a fabulous product which will look amazing on the slopes.”
“We couldn’t be more excited on this partnership,” stated Greg Dacyshyn, Chief Creative Officer of Burton Snowboards. “The Burton family are Dead Heads from way back, so it’s definitely an honor to be collaborating with one of our favorite bands.”
“I’m so stoked because not only do I listen to the music, but I’ve also been a huge fan of Grateful Dead album art since the beginning,” said Danny Davis, Burton pro snowboarder. “You see the Steal Your Face everywhere and I always felt it would look super bad ass on the base of a snowboard. So to see it come to life now is really sick and I’m so happy that Burton made it happen.”
The boards were on display at the show for trade only, and will be available for consumers starting in August of this year. Please see attached photo for a sneak peek of the collaboration, with more details of the board designs, graphics and details to be released later this year.
