Kickboxer’s Licensing Program Kicks Off With American Classics
Los Angeles, CA —American Classics has partnered with director Dimitri Logothetis to develop apparel based on the films Kickboxer, Kickboxer Vengeance, and Kickboxer Retaliation. The partnership, which was facilitated by Maximum Orbit, will result in an action-packed line of Kickboxer T-Shirts, Sweatshirts, Headwear, Hoodies, and more.
“Having been a big fan of martial arts films since the late 80s, we are very excited to have a chance to work with this classic film franchise,” said Caleb Garrison, Head of North American Sales at American Classics. “We are pleasantly surprised to be the first apparel licensee for this franchise and see lots of potential.”
The original Kickboxer film premiered in 1989 and starred Jean-Claude Van Damme as Kurt Sloane. Since then, over a half dozen films have been made in the Kickboxer franchise starring actors such as Alain Moussi, Dave Bautista, and Mike Tyson among many others. A new film, Kickboxer Armageddon, is currently in development and scheduled to premiere in the second half of 2025. Kickboxer is available on streaming services in over 150 countries including the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, and China.
“We’re thrilled to bring the world of the Kickboxer films into a whole new realm with our new merchandising deal,” said Dimitri Logothetis. “Our fans have been incredibly loyal, and now they can bring a piece of the Kickboxer legacy home with them this holiday season. This line of merchandise captures the spirit of the films, and we can’t wait to see our fans enjoy it!”
