Kilburn Live and Rovio Entertainment Corporation Announce First-Ever Intercative Angry Birds Show
Based on the global pop culture mobile gaming phenomenon, Angry Birds Live: The Slingshot Adventure! will land on stages throughout North America in an interactive, theatrical production featuring the most beloved characters from the iconic franchise.
Los Angeles, CA — Kilburn Live, a global market leader in branded live family entertainment, and Rovio Entertainment Corporation, creators of the global phenomenon Angry Birds mobile gaming franchise, announced today plans for a new touring interactive theatrical production “Angry Birds Live: The Slingshot Adventure!”.
In a partnership facilitated by Angry Birds’ global licensing agency IMG, North America’s first-ever interactive touring Angry Birds stage show will feature popular characters from the movies, “Red”, “Silver”, and “Leonard,” as they embark on a hilarious misadventure in a new world rife with challenging situations. With iconic gameplay elements integrated into the live production, the audience will uniquely help dictate the outcome of the show in a one-of-a-kind experience for guests of all ages.

To ensure a one-of-a-kind, hilarious adventure for the entire family, Kilburn and Rovio secured the writing service of veteran Hollywood screenwriters James Johnston and Bennet Yellin. James and Bennet have a long list of theatrical hits to their credit which include iconic films such as “Dumb and Dumber” and “Stuck on You”.

About the Show Writers: James Johnston and Bennett Yellin
James Robert Johnston was working as Patrick Stewart’s Creative Executive at Paramount Pictures when he began collaborating with Bennett Yellin. Yellin had already been part of a long, fruitful partnership with Peter & Bobby Farrelly on projects like “Dumb and Dumber” and “Stuck on You.” As a team, the two spent nearly 15 years together, creating a variety of material with a strong emphasis on comedy and family-themed entertainment. They were heavily involved in a series of rewrites for an epic animated film, “The Fourth Magi” (aka “The Fourth Wise Man”) from Lightstream Entertainment and director Paul Currie. Soon after, they landed a gig on the Fox sitcom TV show “Unhitched.”
The two then embarked on a new “Marley and Me” film for Fox Family Entertainment and “Hotel for Dogs 2” for Paramount. In 2014, Yellin returned to work with the Farrelly Brothers on “Dumb and Dumber To”. Johnston and Yellin continued their collaboration on BFF, an original TV movie for Nickelodeon, as well as extensive rewrites for other Nickelodeon projects like “One Crazy Cruise” and “Dadzilla” In 2015 they wrote the holiday family comedy “Santa’s Little Helper for Fox Family. In 2017, the duo joined a team assembled by renown comedy director Brian Levant to reboot Warner Brothers beloved “Police Academy” franchise.
In 2019, Bennett decided to pursue his childhood dream to work in themed entertainment. He was hired by Super 78 Studios, one of the premier location-based entertainment designers, to do a comedy re-write for “20,000 Leagues Under The Sea: An Interactive Adventure” at Moody Gardens Aquarium in Galveston, Texas. This unique 4D attraction combines immersive theming, on-site special effects, and 3D visuals with Super 78’s proprietary Geppetto Animated System to provide families with a unique, real-time interactive experience.
