Executive Keynote Panel: Licensing Expo 2015 kicked off with an exciting panel of top merchants and brand experts during the Executive Keynote Panel on June 9, featuring Richard Barry, Executive Vice President, Chief Merchandising Officer, Toys“R”Us, Inc.; Dow Famulak, President, Global Brands Group Holding Ltd.; Mike Fitzsimmons, Founder & CEO, Delivery Agent Inc.; and Lisa Harper, CEO, Hot Topic Inc. Global Licensing Survey: LIMA announced the results of its first-ever Annual Global Licensing Study, quantifying worldwide royalty rates and accompanying retail sales. According to the report, retail sales of products bearing the trademarked names and likenesses of cartoon characters, corporate logos and brands, major sports teams and more totaled an estimated $13.4 billion in royalty revenues and $241.5 billion in retail sales in 2014. International Licensing Awards: The consumer products campaign for Disney’s mega-hit animated movie Frozen took top honors as Overall Best Licensed Program. Frozen also won in the Film, Television, or Entertainment (Animated) Program category, while Kohl’s Department Stores received the coveted Retailer of the Year Award for its in-store presentation of Frozen. In addition, JAKKS Pacific tied with Playmates Toys’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles product line for the win in the Film, Television, or Entertainment Animated Licensee: Hard Goods category for its Disney’s Frozen/Snow Glow Elsa doll. Mojang’s hit video game Minecraft was also recognized with wins in multiple categories, as was Knockout Licensing for multiple wins in the Film, Television, or Entertainment (Live Action) category.
