Licensing International Australia Inducts The Wiggles into the Hall of Fame
The Wiggles are the world’s most popular children’s entertainment group which formed in Sydney, Australia in 1991 and this year Licensing International Australia are proud to induct the original Wiggles into the Hall of Fame. The induction will take place at the 2019 Australian & New Zealand Licensing Awards to be held at the Sandringham Yacht Club this November.
The original Wiggles toured every state and territory in Australia, becoming the biggest selling children’s entertainment artists on video. They reached their pinnacle in the 2000s after they broke into the American market, achieving such highs as performing 12 sold out shows at Madison Square Gardens Theatre NYC, the first Australian artists to appear and perform over three years in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, counting such entertainment luminaries as Jerry Seinfeld and Robert De Niro as fans. The group has sold over 30 million CDs and DVDs and have recorded over 1500 songs. The New York Times called them, “The Band that Rocks the Cradle”.
