LIMA Japan: October Advice Clinic To Focus on Trademark Protection in Japan and Overseas
The next session in LIMA Japan’s popular series of Advice Clinics will be on creating, protecting and searching for brand and logo trademarks in Japan and abroad.
Mr. Katsuhisa Ishizuka, a trademark attorney and certified SME advisor, of Ishizuka Patent & Trademark Office, will be available for private consultations to advise on a wide range of trademark related topics such as trademark applications, searches, appraisals, problem-solving, trademark systems and application procedures in foreign countries. This year sees amendments in the Japanese trademark system that allows for sound-based and other new types of trademarks. With Japanese licensing companies increasingly active internationally, this Advice Clinic is the ideal opportunity to review the legal aspects of your current trademarking strategy.
The Advice Clinic will take place on Friday 23rd October 2015 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at LIMA Japan’s central Tokyo meeting facility. Participation is free to LIMA members and JPY5,000 to non-members and registration is on a first-come-first-served basis. A maximum of two people per company are allowed per private session. The sessions are offered in Japanese-language only.
