Marie Enemark Olsen Joins Ethical Supply Chain Program’s Governance Board

The Ethical Supply Chain Program (ESCP) has announced the appointment of Marie Enemark Olsen, Senior Director and Head of Human Rights, Reporting and Responsible Sourcing at the LEGO Group, as a new member of its governance board.

Olsen will join existing board representatives from brands, retailers, factories, trade associations and civil society organizations, who oversee its activities. These include Target, Kenvue and Just Play Toys. ESCP’s governing board was established in 2004.

At the LEGO Group, Olsen is responsible for driving the brand’s human rights and responsible sourcing strategies. She has worked on CSR initiatives for international brands for over 15 years, focusing on sustainability strategies, change management, human rights and compliance. She also brings ESCP her expertise in children’s rights having previously held a position as head of child rights and safety.

Marie Enemark Olsen said: “Social compliance and labour standards are issues of major importance in today’s global supply chains. The ESCP is playing a key role in ensuring organizations are operating both responsibly and ethically.

“I am happy to join an organization whose work aligns perfectly with my personal values. I’m particularly excited about the expansion of the Family Friendly Factory program, which creates better lives for factory workers and their children through the implementation of supportive workplace policies, provides parental and professional training, and increases access to childcare.

Carmel Giblin, CEO and president at Ethical Supply Chain Program, said: “Consumers expect more from the brands they support than ever before. They want to make purchases with confidence and they support brands who seek to have a positive impact on the lives of workers in their supply chain. It is crucial that we continue to develop to meet the needs of all our stakeholders and our board is fundamental in ensuring we remain focused on our founding mission – to improve the lives of workers. Marie’s many years of expertise in developing CSR initiatives will be a huge asset for us as we deliver on this challenge in 2025.”
