Margo Georgiadis, ex-Google, will become Mattel CEO effective Feb. 8, replacing Christopher Sinclair, who has been interim CEO since Bryan Stockton’s departure in January 2015.

Georgiadis has been President, Americas at Google from snce 2011, leading the company’s commercial operations and advertising sales in the US, Canada, and Latin America. She was previously Chief Operating Officer at Groupon and Chief Marketing Officer at Discover Financial Services.

Sinclair will shift to Executive Chairman of the Board. Richard Dickson remains as President-COO.

In Georgiadis, Mattel has gained a “proven and extraordinarily talented executive” with a “deep understanding” of how to “build and scale brands on a global basis,” Sinclair said in a statement.
