PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — In honor of America’s upcoming Semiquincentennial, the National Women’s Pickleball Foundation (NWPF) is proud to announce the launch of the (America250) National Pickleball Challenge. As the nation prepares to mark its 250th birthday on July 4, 2026, this nationwide initiative — launched in partnership with America250, the nonpartisan organization charged by Congress to lead the commemoration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence — invites men, women, and children across the country to pick up a paddle, get active, and represent their state in America’s fastest-growing sport.

The National Pickleball Challenge is more than just a game; it is a movement to promote community, unity, and wellness. The challenge calls on pickleball players of all skill levels—from first-timers to seasoned pros—to Register and Be Counted in your State! The goal is to see which state can mobilize the most residents to hit the courts, fostering a spirited rivalry that brings neighborhoods together.

“As we approach the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, it’s essential that Americans find meaningful, accessible ways to come together,” said Jen Condon, executive vice president at America250. “Through this partnership with the National Women’s Pickleball Foundation, the National Pickleball Challenge invites communities across the country to celebrate our shared history by getting active, connecting with one another, and participating in something that represents the American spirit.”

Uniting the Nation on the Court
“Pickleball has a unique ability to bridge gaps between generations and backgrounds,” said Alita Friedman, Co-Founder of the NWPF. “As we approach America250, we created an event that honors the American spirit of community and competition. Whether you are 8 or 80, we want to see you out there. This is about physical health, mental well-being, and the joy of play.”

Key Highlights of the Challenge:

• State vs. State: Participants will register and leaderboards will track which states have the highest participation per capita.
• Health & Wellness: The initiative highlights the critical benefits of the sport, promoting cardiovascular health, agility, and the benefits of social interaction.
• United Appeal: The challenge is open to everyone—men, women, and youth are encouraged to participate.
• Prizes: Communities will be recognized for participation, including court and equipment donations.
