Five-Year Deal to Highlight “Team NBA” Initiative
NEW YORK, June 5, 2012 – The National Basketball Association (NBA) announced a five-year partnership with Alleson Athletic to be the provider of recreational uniforms to adult and youth leagues, across the US and Canada beginning Fall 2012.
Alleson Athletic will create a signature line of performance basketball products including jerseys, shorts, shooting shirts and accessories using NBA, WNBA and NBA D-League team names and team colors.
“We are proud to align with Alleson Athletic in this important area of recreational outfitting. Next season, kids throughout the country will be able to wear these uniforms and share an identity with all of our teams,” said Christopher Arena, Vice President of Team Outfitting and Equipment for the NBA.
Alleson Athletic partners with Sporting Goods dealers who work with local recreational departments, YMCA’s, PAL’s, JCC’ s and other youth-based organizations to outfit their leagues. The “Team NBA” logo will be featured on all products as well as highlighted within catalogs and other promotional material. For many kids, this will be their introduction to organized youth basketball.
