Redan Publishing Launches Licensing Division
Redan Publishing, the UK’s leading independent publisher of children’s magazines is launching a dedicated licensing division, Redan Alchemy LLP to represent their IP rights, in-house characters and third party brands for licensing.
Redan’s portfolio of titles includes the UK’s number one and two best selling pre-school titles in their Fun To Learn® range and also the best selling title in the primary girls sector, Sparkle World.
Redan is looking to license its key brands Sparkle World® and Fun To Learn® and the unique characters that have been created by their talented creative team including Goblin Princess, Sparkle Fairy and Mik, Mak and Zak. All these characters are receiving great exposure in Redan’s magazines and have proved extremely popular with readers.
Michael Gottlieb, is joining Redan Alchemy as CEO and brings a wealth of experience from Warner Bros Consumer Products to television production companies. He will be representing the company’s brands for the first time, at this year’s Brand Licensing Show. He will be reporting to Redan’s MD Robert Sutherland.
In his 25 years in the licensing industry Michael has worked for a wide variety of brands developing international consumer products business across character and music-led licences and through multiple product categories and sectors.
He commented, “These are exciting times for Redan! I have had the pleasure of working with the company for many years and know from experience the benefits that come with inclusion in their top selling character magazines.
Redan’s titles are loved by children and trusted by parents. This special relationship combined with great sales figures, creates a strong platform for launching new brands into the children’s sector. In fact Redan’s best-selling titles have a far higher audience reach than many of today’s satellite children’s TV channels.”
Robert Sutherland MD said, “Our business relies on being able to spot the hottest properties on the market and present them effectively in our magazines, so we have a strong sense of what is going to work in the children’s industry and what isn’t. We felt that it was about time we put this knowledge to good use with our own brands and characters and I’m delighted that Michael has come on board to build and develop Redan Alchemy to support our brands and those of relevant third parties in the future.”
