Sesame Workshop Promotes Nishita Gupte to Senior Vice President of Strategy & Transformation
(New York, NY,) — Sesame Workshop, the global nonprofit behind Sesame Street, announces the promotion of Nishita Gupte to Senior Vice President of Strategy & Transformation. In this role, Gupte leads the development and execution of the organization’s long-term strategy, grounded in children’s needs and today’s emerging childhood realities. Her work focuses on ensuring that the organization delivers compelling Sesame content while expanding reach, relevance, and engagement for children and families across platforms, in communities, and through partners. Gupte reports to Chief Operating Officer Joseph Giraldi.

With more than 15 years of experience across education, innovation, strategy, and operations, Gupte has focused on helping mission-driven organizations translate bold ideas into sustainable impact. Since joining Sesame Workshop in 2022, she has held senior leadership roles, including Vice President of U.S. Social Impact & Operations and Vice President of Strategy & Transformation. Earlier in her career, she worked in roles designing, building, and scaling innovative education models, as well as in private equity and investment banking, bringing together thoughtful system design, disciplined execution, and people-centered change to build organizations that last.
Gupte holds an MBA and an MA in Education from Stanford University and a BS in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
