StudioCanal Signs a Worldwide Licensing Rights Agreement with Renaissance Pictures to Represent the Evil Dead Franchise
STUDIOCANAL is thrilled to announce the deal today which confirms they will represent the EVIL DEAD franchise (excluding “Army of Darkness”) worldwide for licensing rights in all categories.
STUDIOCANAL has represented EVIL DEAD 2 for many years now managing a strong licensing program worldwide including publishing, apparel, collectibles, gift, location-based entertainment and video games. Creative Licensing Company has been and will continue to work alongside STUDIOCANAL as sole agent.

The Evil Dead franchise, created by Sam Raimi, centers on Ash Williams as he confronts demonic forces unleashed by the Necronomicon, an ancient and malevolent book. The original 1981 film is renowned for its intense horror, while its sequels, such as Evil Dead II, skillfully combine horror, dark humor and action. The series was revived in 2013 with a grittier, more violent reboot, followed by Evil Dead Rise in 2023 which reached $147M at the box office worldwide including $6,9M at the UK box office through STUDIOCANAL UK.
The franchise is distinguished by its unique fusion of gore and humor, anchored by the iconic character of Ash Williams.

The franchise will continue its growth with 2 new movies. Next spin-off movie is directed by Sébastien Vaniček (Infested /Vermines) followed by a movie written and directed by Francis Galluppi (The Last Stop In Yuma County).
