Super7 Reveals First Hip-Hop Reaction Figure with ODB
San Francisco, California – November 15, 2020 – Super7 is excited to bring hip-hop to its world of ReAction Figures with the release of Ol’ Dirty Bastard, an American music icon and founding member of the legendary rap group the Wu-Tang Clan.
This 3.75″ articulated figure of O.D.B. comes on a cardback featuring art based on the cover of his platinum-selling debut solo album, Return to the 36 Chambers.
“It is hard to overstate the influence of the Wu-Tang Clan across pop-culture, and the unfortunate early passing of Ol’ Dirty Bastard,” said Super7 Founder & Owner Brian Flynn. “As we have been able to make ReAction Figures of our favorite punk and metal heroes over the years, as soon as we could get into Hip-Hop, ODB was the clear first choice. I can still hear the rhymes in my head.”
ReAction Figures celebrate the iconic action figure of our childhood. The unique size and sculpting style was simple while allowing the imagination to go all in on daily adventures. With ReAction Figures, Super7 continues the classic action figure style while making the figures we wished we had while growing up.
“The Estate of Ol’ Dirty Bastard is so excited to be working with Super7,” says Nicole Beckett, Creative Director at Four Screens Management. “Helping create this ReAction Figure of Ol’ Dirty Bastard with Super7 was an exciting and detailed process. We all were committed to preserving ODB’s legacy by creating the most authentic, 3.75” version of him possible, with his signature braids, grill and mic. Now everyone can have a little ODB in their life!”
The O.D.B. ReAction Figure is $18 and will be available on Super7.com and from other retailers on November 30, 2020. This licensing partnership was brokered by Four Screens’ licensing agent, FanGirl Consulting & Brand Management.
