Tabletop Vacations Launching the Official Dungeons & Dragons ‘Dungeon Master University”
A Premium Two-Day Symposium Designed to Train the Next Generation of World-Class Dungeon Masters
Pawtuckett, RI and Atlanta, GA — Tabletop Vacations is launching the licensed Dungeon Master University.
A first-of-its-kind symposium, Dungeon Master University aims to empower Dungeons & Dragons players to transition behind the screen and become confident, creative, and career-ready Dungeon Masters.
Hosted at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta GA, Dungeon Master University (DMU) is a two-day intensive event focused on four immersive learning tracks:
- Skill Building – Learn to run dynamic encounters, manage player behavior, and sharpen your improvisational instincts.
- Campaign Building – Design memorable story arcs layered with meaningful adventures, and learn the art of narrative pacing.
- World Building – Construct compelling settings, factions, lore, and ecosystems that bring your tabletop to life.
- Career Building – Explore the business of Dungeon Mastering with advice from professional DMs, streamers, writers, and content creators.
Each curriculum is led by acclaimed Dungeon Masters, industry professionals and seasoned storytellers, offering a hands-on, interactive experience. Attendees will gain not only technical knowledge but also the confidence and inspiration to level up their game—whether running home sessions, launching livestreams, or pursuing a career as a paid professional DM.
“Dungeon Master University is more than a workshop—it’s a chance to level up your storytelling, whether you’re a veteran DM or taking your first go behind the screen,” said Greg Bilsland, Executive Producer for DUNGEONS & DRAGONS at Wizards of the Coast. “DMing is one of the most creative and rewarding ways to engage with D&D, and DMU gives you tools, the community, and the inspiration to grow your skills. We’re proud to support that journey alongside Tabletop Vacations.”
“For years, we’ve brought unforgettable D&D experiences to castles across Europe,” added Tara Rout, Co-Founder of Tabletop Vacations. “DMU is the next evolution—an intensive, high-quality symposium crafted to build mastery and community among aspiring DMs.”
The first Dungeon Master University will debut this January 2 – 3, 2026 in Atlanta, GA. Spots will be limited to ensure personalized attention and workshop depth. Throughout this immersive event attendees will get the chance to learn from and collaborate with some of the most accomplished creative minds in the industry, while forming new bonds with other attending Dungeon Masters.
