Wendell Scott Foundation Races Into Licensing With New Agent
The Wendell Scott Foundation has selected FanGirl Consulting & Brand Management, LLC as its global licensing agent.
The Wendell Scott Foundation is a national, not for profit 501c3 established to commemorate the memory of the first African American race car driver to win the Grand National race, NASCAR’s highest level. Wendell Oliver Scott (August 29, 1921 – December 23, 1990) was an American stock car racing driver from Danville, Virginia and the only black driver to win a race in what is now the Sprint Cup Series. Scott broke the color barrier in Southern stock car racing whose career was repeatedly affected by racial prejudice.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to supply Wendell Scott fans all over the world the level of merchandise and apparel that they deserve. We are excited to be represented by Fan Girl and the amazing work that they do,” Warrick Scott, CEO of the Wendell Scott Foundation.
“We are honored and thrilled that the Wendell Scott Foundation has selected the FanGirl team to be its global Licensing Agent. Wendell Scott’s story is a racing story which has the civil rights movement as its backdrop. He was a talented driver and a trailblazer in NASCAR. We look forward to working with the Foundation to celebrate his legacy and build this licensing franchise,” says Anita Castellar, CEO of FanGirl Consulting & Brand Management.
The Wendell Scott brand is a call to action to those who not only desire to compete at the highest level, but desire to be the best at the highest level. Wendell Scott embodied a competitive credence that giving up is way harder than trying. Wendell Scott believed that there is no such word as “can’t”.
