ZenWorks Launches Its English for Global Licensing™ (EGL™) Training Program
The first workshop, focusing on improving presentation skills, to take place on Saturday, 11th May in central Tokyo
As the Japanese market matures, creative content holders are seeking new business opportunities in international markets. To achieve success, effective English-language skills are paramount. The business English programs offered at English-language schools are too generalized and often delivered by English teachers with little or no business experience. None have customized programs for the licensing industry.
To address this need, the Tokyo-based licensing consultancy ZenWorks is launching its English for Global Licensing™ (EGL™) training program to deliver English-language learning workshops, seminars, and classes customized to the Japanese licensing and creative contents industries. ZenWorks’ overall aim with the EGL™ program is to develop the English-language skills of executives in these fields to a strong working level on the global stage.
The first EGL™ workshop will be a one-day program on presentation skills with the theme of “Introducing Your Company Effectively”, to be delivered on Saturday, 11th May. Participants will be coached on the content, timing, and delivery of their presentations, and following the workshop ZenWorks will edit the presentations professionally so they can be put to immediate use. We have set the date of the workshop to precede major global licensing trade fairs in Las Vegas, Tokyo, Seoul and London. This will give participants an ideal opportunity to apply the skills acquired at the workshop.
Roger Berman and Geoff Tozer will lead the workshop. Roger is president of ZenWorks, a director of LIMA Japan, the licensing trade body, and a professional in the Japanese licensing industry. Geoff is a part-time university lecturer at Japanese national universities, examiner, and author of TOEIC guides. The workshop is inclusive of course materials and lunch. A 10% discount off the workshop price is available to LIMA Japan members. Following the workshop, Geoff and Roger invite participants for a relaxing drink (optional) at an authentic British pub in Roppongi – first round is on the trainers!
We are currently planning workshops to cover areas including sourcing new properties (negotiation skills), preparing property marketing plans (business writing skills), understanding English-language license contracts (comprehension skills), and press release writing (business writing skills). We can also create licensing and general English business skill programs customized to specific clients’ needs.
